While technical innovations have been being developed such as IoT, big data, and artificial intelligence, people in the world are now attempting to create new industries and/or services or solve problems in our society by employing digital data generated, circulated, and/or accumulated as managing resources.

But, in Japan, human resources, namely, data scientists, are lacking who can analyze such data and solve the problems. Thus, we need to train up data scientists urgently, especially human resources who tackle the problems in our society.

This Industry Consortium has been established for strengthening educational bases of MI Center, promoting academic-industrial alliance, and applying the results to the developments in the industry. In addition, the Industry Consortium will summarize needs in the industry, support practical education, and deliver the results and applications related to data science.
